Brunelleschi’s Dome Climb and Tour of Florence Cathedral Museum

Tour Florence’s most important and visited historical landmarks – Brunelleschi’s Dome and the Florence Cathedral Museum. Climb to the top of this iconic 16th century Renaissance dome that crowns Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral and admire the famous Vasari fresco in Florence.

One of the largest churches in Italy, Florence Cathedral features the work of several Renaissance artists including Andrea Orcagna and Taddeo Gaddi. The museum inside of the Florence Cathedral founded in 1891 contains many original works of art created for the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore by Michelangelo, Donatello, and Ghiberti to name a few.

The original works of Renaissance art that once adorned the Duomo and Baptistery exteriors were removed in order to protect them from the elements. But luckily, they can now all be found inside of the Florence Cathedral Museum. Better known as the Opera del Duomo Museum, the OPA is a museum within a museum dedicated to preserving the Florence Duomo’s most precious artworks and sculptures.

And from the Duomo terrace you will observe the most picturesque views overlooking the city of Florence.
