Assisi Bus Tours

Itinerary

The tour takes the Autostrada del Sole past Orte to Spoleto, where there will be a brief stop. The tour proceeds past the Clitumno Springs, Trevi, Foligno, and Spello before it finally arrives at Assisi.

Our first stop is at the Church of Santa Chiara, on the site where St. Francis was born. Walking through the narrow streets, we come to the Piazza del Comune, site of the Palazzo dei Priori, the Palazzo del Popolo, and the Temple of Minerva.

The Basilica of St. Francis, the next stop, contains masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue. After lunch in a local restaurant, there will be free time. The bus then takes us to the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, the place where St. Francis lived and died. The Porziuncola Chapel merits particular interest. After passing through Deruta, renowned for its artistic ceramics, we will arrive in Rome.

Schedule

On every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday between 1 April and 31 October. Hotel pick-up service from 6:30m to 7:00am; the tour departs the Vastours Terminal at 7:15am and return around 7pm.
