On our arrival to Assisi we will visit the Church of Santa Chiara where St. Francis was born. From the church we will continue on foot to the Piazza del Comune, site of the Palazzo dei Priori, the Palazzo del Popolo, and the Temple of Minerva.
The Basilica of St. Francis, the next stop, contains masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue. After lunch in a local restaurant continue by bus to the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, the place where St. Francis lived and died. The Porziuncola Chapel merits particular interest. Proceed to Orvieto.
At approx. 5.00 pm departure to Rome.
Return to the hotel or nearest point.
